On Wednesday 23 October 2024, the Next Step Cards Team held a Best Practice Event in Ellesmere Port, with practitioners from across Cheshire and Merseyside joining on the day.
The team shared research, best practice examples, new resources, and also provided an opportunity for attendees to refresh their existing training knowledge, including a session around goal based outcomes to support young people to set and achieve their own goals.
Dr Fiona Pender, Consultant Clinical Psychologist and Clinical Lead for Next Step Cards, said:
"We really appreciate all the practitioners who gave up their time to come along to the event and it was brilliant to hear such positive feedback around how they’ve been used in practice.
“We've trained nearly 2,800 practitioners to date and those who came along shared their stories of how they've adapted the Cards for different groups, such as younger children, adults and people with autism, and how they’ve been used in creative ways to engage children and young people.”
